Description
This module is part of a complete training cycle covering all aspects of Building Information Modeling, from the basics to tools for the BIM Manager, including training for the BIM Coordinator.
This course covers the theoretical foundations of “BIM Bases” and details the principles of using digital models in a BIM process. The aim is to acquire the skills needed to participate in a BIM project by consulting IFC models and using collaborative platforms.
Objectives
Closely linked to the various BIM use cases, the main aim of this module is to provide the skills needed to participate in a BIM project without modeling a 3D model.
Program
- IFC file structures: empty/full, level, Pset…
- Classification: principles and benefits
- Introduction to IFC viewers and exercises
- Introduction to exchange platforms
- Use of BCF (comments on model)
- Extraction: inform, measure, quantify, clash
- Legal and contractual aspects part 1
- Practical application of knowledge acquired during training and at home via a collaborative platform
Duration – 2 days, 14h + home project
Prerequisites
- Completion of BIM – Bases training (FR/DE)
- or
- Hold an academic degree recognized by the CRTI-B for equivalence to BIM – Bases

Target audience
Anyone wishing to participate in a BIM project, with the exception of modelers.
Examination and certificate
The exam is an integral part of the training.
At the end of the training, participants will receive a certificate of participation issued by the House of Training and CRTI-B.
