Algemeen
Het venster is een bouwelement dat vooral wordt gebruikt om natuurlijk licht en verse lucht te verschaffen. Het gaat hierbij om verticale openingen maar ook om horizontale openingen, zoals dakramen of lichtkoepels. Een venster bestaat uit een kozijn (vast gedeelte) en een of meer panelen (bewegend gedeelte), en omvat accessoires zoals scharnieren, draai-, schuif- of vouwbeslag. Ze kan ook zonwering of verduistering bevatten.
